WTF?

I am one day away from turning 40 and my body has decided to fall apart. I wrote about my heart issues that I have been experiencing, well I decided to order pizza for dinner. Well that led to a gall bladder attack, Gall bladder issues run in my family. I was up until almost 1 am trying to get all of the gas out of my system. Blech! I also have my period, this time my cycle was 23 days, 5 days longer than the prevpus cycle. It started like it used to , medium to heavy flow. Well, today I am using a super tampon per hour. This is crazy! My body feels like it is falling apart. I am in full on perimenopause, and I feel like this should be happening when I turn 50. I am also getting sunspots on my hands. It is like the aging process has gone whacko in my system.

I am not sure what to do about the amount of blood I am losing. Do I need to take iron? I am hoping that it starts to slow down soon.

It feels so weird to be going through all of this crap and being a new mom.

I'm sorry. That must be so frustrating. I hope you feel better soon.

I turned 40 on March 21, and I have definitely felt the slow creep of aging for the past few years for sure. (sigh)

You poor thing! Maybe it's worth giving the doctor a call, though my cycle has been strange too (I had two sing Oliver's birth), starts heavier than before, then after a 3/4 days seems to taper off just to start full flow again for a day or so and then it's over. Does it sound similar? I do take iron.
Love, Fran

I'm 30 and going through this if it makes you feel any better. My first period (not sure if it was me or missing a couple pills that caused it) was heavy like that. It was like that for a day or two then tapered off. I would say if it lasts longer than that to possibly call. I don't iron would be a bad idea.

Supertampon hours, yes indeed. Just a few though. While I used to be light to medium. I did ask the doctor about my period going out of whack 2 years ago, and he said I could take the pill. (bcp) (which of course didn't sit well with TTC) But since you have those plans in place it may be worth considering getting some kind of hormonal balance for your body, whether it is bcp or Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Oh my gosh, I hope you're feeling better! Bless your heart!

I'll be 40 in June. It just doesn't seem possible!

40 really is the new 30, ya know? (-; I've been part of the gross personal stories crowd for years now. Me and the old folk with all our colonoscopy stories. LOL. And just a couple weeks ago I was talking to a couple 50+ year old neighbors about menopause and holding my own quite well with the hormone talk, even schooling them in a couple areas. (-;

Wishing you all the best in November. Sorry I haven't been around. I'm still reading, just more sporadically. Hoping to get better about all that soon...

Hang in there, friend. And Happy Birthday!
